Shrooms Café Practicum consists of 40 total practicum hours. Students schedule their practicum hours directly with the service center at any time during the 11-week program, subject to availability and supervision requirements. Lodging and meals not included.

How to Enter Our Facilitator Training Program (AAA Learning Institute)

1 Request the Application Paperwork
Complete a short form and receive the full application packet.

Participate in a brief, informal interview to ensure program fit and answer questions.

How the AAA Facilitator Training Program Works
Online Coursework (Self-Paced)
Complete core curriculum through our online learning platform on your own schedule.
Live Instruction & Support
Join live sessions Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6–8 p.m. (PT) via Google Meet. Recordings are available if you miss a session.
In-Person Practicum (40 Hours)
Complete 40 supervised practicum hours at a licensed Oregon psilocybin service center.
Graduate & Receive Your Certificate
Upon successful completion, receive a Certificate of Completion required for Oregon licensure.
Service Center Practicum — Shrooms Café (Ashland, OR)
All students complete 40 required practicum hours at Shrooms Café, a licensed Oregon psilocybin service center.
Practicum Structure & Roles
- Students do not ingest psilocybin during practicum.
- Students participate in supervised service-center operations, including:
- Client preparation and orientation support
- Observation of licensed facilitators during sessions
- Assistance with non-clinical facilitation and support roles
- Integration and post-session support activities
- Practicum hours are scheduled directly by the student with Shrooms Café.
- Hours may be completed at any point during the 11-week program, subject to availability and supervision.
- All activities occur under the oversight of licensed facilitators and service-center staff.
Licensing & Permit Requirements
- Students must obtain a $25 Oregon Psilocybin Services (OPS) Worker Permit prior to practicum participation.
- Additional licensure steps are completed after graduation.

How to Become a Licensed Psilocybin Facilitator in Oregon
Graduates must:
- Complete a HECC-licensed facilitator training program
- Receive a Certificate of Completion
- Apply through the Oregon Health Authority (OHA)
- Complete fingerprinting and background check
- Submit a Social Equity Plan
- Pay applicable state application and licensing fees
Practicum
Practicum — Shrooms Café (Ashland, Oregon)
The practicum is completed at Shrooms Café, a licensed Oregon psilocybin service center, and consists of 40 supervised practicum hours.
During practicum, students gain real-world exposure to professional facilitation environments through observation, service-center support roles, and supervised participation in non-clinical operations. This experience is designed to build competence, confidence, ethical awareness, and practical understanding of Oregon’s regulated psilocybin services framework.
Students do not ingest psilocybin as part of practicum.
Practicum activities may include client preparation and orientation support, observation of licensed facilitators during sessions, assistance with approved facilitation support roles, and integration or post-session support activities. All practicum hours are completed under the direct oversight of licensed facilitators and service-center staff.
Practicum hours are scheduled directly by the student with Shrooms Café and may be completed at any point during the 11-week program, subject to availability, supervision, and service-center requirements.
